Doctoral Consortium Application
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

We invite worldwide students to apply to the doctoral consortium (DC) session.
\nThe doctoral consortium aims at training the students on how to speak in public and to describe their research, as well as providing them with feedback and mentorship on their research activity.
\nEvery student can decide if he\/she wants to deliver a presentation at the DC, or just attend the conference and the DC session.
\nRegistered students accepted to present will give a short presentation (typically, 5 minutes) about their research topic.
\nAll the students will share ideas and receive a 20-30 minutes mentorship meeting (one on one).
\nIf a student wants to deliver a presentation at the DC and\/or to receive mentorship, he\/she must apply by June 30th and send to Morgan Price (The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, morgan.price@ubc.ca) AND to Fieran Mason-Blakley (Leverage Analytics, Canada, fieranmason@leverageanalytics.ca) the application form available as an excel file at:<\/p>\n

along with a two-page-long description of the research activity. Applications to the doctoral consortium will be evaluated on a first-come-first-served basis.
\nThe e-mail message with the application form (excel file) must have the subject “ICHI 2021 Doctoral Consortium application”.
\nStudents will receive acceptance notification by July 15th.<\/p>\n

NSF Student’s Grant Application<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Some NSF funds are available for students to attend the conference and the doctoral consortium session.
\nTo be eligible for the NSF students’ grant, a student must meet ALL of the following criteria:
\n– be a full-time doctoral student at a U.S. institution by the time of the conference;
\n– register to attend ICHI 2021.
\nIf a student wants to apply for the NSF students’ grant, he\/she has to proceed as above (Doctoral Consortium Application), replacing the subject of the e-mail message with “ICHI 2021 Student Travel Support.”
\nApplications to NSF students’ grants will be evaluated on a first-come-first-served basis, giving priority to doctoral students who have been accepted for participation in the Doctoral Consortium.
\nThe members of the commission evaluating the applications are Morgan Price, Fieran Mason-Blakley, and Gondy Leroy.
\nStudents will receive acceptance notification by July 15th.<\/p>\n
